Register interestProject overview
50,000 tonnes a year of biomethanol from certified woody biomass.
A renewable methanol plant in development in the United States, planned to supply marine fuel and chemical buyers.
- The opportunity
- Shipping and chemical buyers need low-carbon methanol in volume, and today almost all methanol is made from fossil fuels. Few renewable plants operate at commercial scale.
- The project
- A plant converting certified woody biomass into biomethanol, built in stages. Stage 1 is planned at 50,000 tonnes a year, produced to qualify under ISCC EU and RED III, with room for future expansion.

On the project
Site, feedstock and technology.

The site
A greenfield industrial site with road and rail access, secured for the project.
Feedstock rating
Low supply risk
1.3 million bone dry tons of biomass available at low risk, from pulpwood, forest residues and sawmill residues.
The feedstock
Rated A by an independent third-party assessment of the regional supply base.

The technology
